Welcome to Cheriton Bishop Community Primary School

photoThere's lots of information here about us and what we do, both in and out of the classroom. As our name suggests, we are an integral part of the community, maintaining very close links with the village.

We pride ourselves on being a warm, close-knit school with high educational expectations and standards. That means we appreciate the varying needs and strengths of all our pupils, and help them get the most from school.

There are around 70 pupils, split into four classes, with a very high ratio of staff to children. We have a good-size playing field for sports and games, two hard play areas and a wildlife garden.

We have lots of after-school clubs – from tag rugby to taiko drumming - and regularly go on trips. We have also been recognised under the Healthy Schools scheme, reflecting the emphasis we put on looking after the children's health and wellbeing, as well as their education.

Our latest Ofsted inspection, in 2009 , gave us a 'good' rating. Click here for the report.
